About Our Store
Located in Salem, Virginia, Blue Note Vintage Music, specializes in vintage guitars and other stringed instruments. Take a look at a vintage lineup of Fenders, Gibsons, Martins, Rics, and many more. We are nestled in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachians. Bluegrass Music was born in this part of the state, but we have instruments for all musicians from acoustic guitars to zithers and everything in between. The fan of the vintage electric guitars will be at home here as will the classical musician.

Blue Note Vintage Music is located less than one mile from exit 140 on Interstate 81 in Salem, Virginia. The store is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00am to 5:30pm. Other hours are available by appointment. But start your search now, the store cannot display all that is available right here on our website!

 About Our Owner

Steve Carlisle, the owner, has been in the industry for 35 years in 2009. What began as a harmless collection of six guitars in 1974 grew into a passion for the vintage string instrument. There are time treasures on each page which have not been exposed to the public for years. With this website, Steve is bringing out the good stuff. So we are wiping off the cobwebs, dusting off the cases, and opening up these instruments to the light of day! Check daily for new additions of vintage acoustics and electrics, plus, tube amplifiers and effects that are hard to find.Guitars, basses, mandolins, violins, and more! There are treasures waiting on every page. Be sure to check back daily as we continue to add to our site.

Steve Carlisle, the owner, also has an outstanding reputation for repairs and restorations. You can ship your instrument to Blue Note and he can take care of the repair and ship it back. Call for details.
